The Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, held an Advent wreath-making.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Nov. 26, the church said the event was held on Sunday, Nov. 27, at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

According to the church’s post, this Glenn Family Ministries tradition was open to participants of all ages. Donations are accepted and supplies are available, the church said.

New Home

According to the church, Whether they are newbies to Atlanta, the church, or are searching for a new church home, the Glenn Memorial is something they appreciate.

The mission of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church is to love God and love one another with all of one's being, including one's heart, mind, soul, and strength.

The church said that regardless of skin color, culture, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, familial or socioeconomic position, education, politics, physical or mental ability, or religious background, they happily welcome everyone into the community's life and ministry.

Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church also observed All Saints' Day.

According to the church's post, worship services were held at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

John Rutter's "Requiem" served as the special music at 11 a.m., according to the church. worship.

Church’s History

John Wesley, an Anglican preacher who served the Church of England in the 1700s, founded Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church as a United Methodist congregation.

The church asserted that its members' fervent participation in religious services and their involvement contributed to the growth of "Methodist" groups.

The societies eventually made it to America, where the church legally acknowledged them as a distinct denomination in 1784.

According to Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, there are 11 million United Methodists worldwide.

They observed that social duty and theological belief have long been linked among United Methodists.

More instances of the church's relationships with several Christian organizations and efforts to promote an ecumenical tradition were provided, including its collaborations with the Office of Spirituality and Religious Life at Emory University.

Congregation of Christians

According to the church's website, Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church may be found on the Emory University campus in Atlanta's famed Druid Hills district.

The church said its congregation is made up of people of all ages, ranging in age from two to 102. 

It added that they provide ministries that encourage a feeling of community and belonging for everyone through worship, service, instruction, and hospitality.

As a Christian community, the church said it is dedicated to loving God and loving others with all of its heart, soul, mind, and strength. 

The church said everyone has intrinsic worth and dignity as a part of God's creation, just as Jesus loved those around him. 

Regardless of color, culture, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, familial or financial position, education, politics, physical or mental ability, or religious background, they welcome all people into the entire life and ministry of the community, it added.
