Tara Krantz, a current student at the Boston School of Theology, admitted that she heard God's call later in life. She was already a teacher when God called her to serve as a pastor for His people.

Teaching as First Love

In a report with the Journal Inquirer, Krantz had already served the community as a teacher for 25 years. Growing up, she always believed that teaching was her calling.

As a young girl, she had a passion for teaching. She helped her brother with school. She told the news outlet that teaching children brought a sense of fulfillment for her.

"I wanted to have my chalkboard, and I wanted to teach children," she said. "I used to help my brother with schoolwork. I loved anything that had to do with teaching."

She would later attend Holyoke Community College and Westfield State University. Krantz earned her Bachelor's Degree in elementary education.

Krantz soon began to teach young children. She enjoyed caring for her students and helping them mold their young minds.

As the years went by, Krantz realized that one thing that did not change in her career in teaching was her faith.

Falling in Love With Jesus

In the report, she explained that her love for Jesus came at an early age. Krantz attended Sunday school at Calvary Presbyterian.

At a young age, she wanted everyone to know who Jesus was. She became passionate about sharing Christ's love with everyone she knew.

Back then, she never dreamed about being a pastor despite her love for Jesus.

She explained that she had her original calling as a teacher, and that was something she wanted to do.

Krantz began attending the United Methodist Church of Enfield. The pastor urged her to take a lay course on sermon writing.

Sowing Seeds of Faith

Looking back, Krantz said that her taking up the course was what helped fan the flames of her desire to serve God. She added that her pastor would tell her that she would lead her church one day.

She remembered the feeling of joy when one of her students brought a Bible for show and tell. Krantz talked to the child and said that she knew that God was already sowing a seed in her heart.

Krantz promised God that she would heed his call for her. She would begin taking courses and soon became a church lay leader.

Faith Journey

Krantz also preached her first sermon at Vernon United Methodist Church.

The pastor was assigned to Portland United Methodist Church. This was her first step in her journey as a faith leader.

She told the news outlet that her fellow pastors mentored her and helped her get started.

Krantz got her full-time appointment as pastor of Rockville United Methodist Church in 2022.

She admitted that her journey of getting to where she is now was quite the adventure. Krantz pointed out that God had a way of getting one out of their comfort zones.

The pastor said it was always a blessing to help others. She found that it was very rewarding to be a miracle for those who were in need.

For now, Krantz said she is focusing on building relationships in her church. She is excited about where her new journey takes her as a student at Boston School of Theology.

According to the church website, Rockville United Methodist Church is located in Rockville, Connecticut.
