Strained Race Relations in Cincinnati

The World Population View website revealed that Cincinnati has been dealing with race relations in the past. As further explained, there were a lot of race riots in the city. In 1829, they noted that the first riot occurred because of anti-abolitionists that attacked black individuals in the town.

Other riots were recorded in 1836 and 1841, as mentioned on the website. They reported that the most updated riots happened in 2001 when police officers killed a black man during a foot pursuit.

The event had led to some protests and two mistrials in court, as further posted on the website. They said that juries were deadlocked and could not make a decision.

The website stated that in the past, 88% of the population in Cincinnati was white. They added that a lot of people were activists against other races. The area of the city was a border town between Kentucky, a slave state, and Ohio, as explained on the website.
