Hope Christian Church will host this year’s Connect Conference for students on Aug. 18-19, 2022.

According to the church's official website, the upcoming student gathering is open for incoming 6th graders until those who have recently graduated 12th grade in the past school year. It will be an avenue for them to connect deeply with Jesus and other young Christians in one faith before they enter a new school year.
‘It will be a grand finale for their summer before classes kick in,’ according to Pastor Chad Painter.
The two-night conference will start from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Denver Daniel of Open Door Christian Schools and Nobles Darby IV of FCA Metro Cleveland will speak during the event. Hope Christian Church Worship will lead the singing at the gathering. The artist and rapper Narrative from Orlando, Florida, will also perform on Friday evening.
Aside from talks, there will also be breakout sessions, such as community outreach and This Is The Way Spiritual Formation. Pastor Painter also mentioned that there would be an arcade, basketball, and an after-party at the event. A local sponsor will also serve meals every night.
There will be a Movie on the Lawn After Party with concessions on the last night. Star Wars: Rogue One will be on screen at 9:15 p.m. for the whole family. Pick-up time on Friday will be around 11:30 p.m. after the film showing.
All attendees should bring their notebook, water bottle, Bible, and cash or card. They can also bring lawn chairs and blankets for the movie night.
Registration to the conference costs $50 until Aug. 14, 2022. There is also a day pass available for $25 for those who cannot join the whole conference. Payments can be made online, by check, or by cash through your pastor or leader.
Connect Conference merchandise are also available, like t-shirts and stickers. These are not included with the registration fee, but they can be purchased during online registration as add-ons.
Hope Christian Church
Hope Christian Church has always realized its vision to connect people to Jesus since 1951. It was formerly called the Fairview Park Christian Church, then Westlake Church of Christ, and finally, its current name in 2003.
Despite the challenges and changes over time, the church still stands on the same teachings as it spreads God’s love to the community. It believes in the triune God as the ruler of the universe. It also adheres to the Bible as the supreme source of truth even in this modern time.
The church has regular Sunday services every 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. for online and in-person attendance. Each service includes contemporary worship, communion, and Biblical preaching.
The church, currently located at 32625 Detroit Road, Avon, OH, is under the leadership of Pastor Neal Nemeth. Other pastors in the church include Pastor Bob Bauer, Pastor Mark Mattingly, Pastor Zach Melcher, Pastor Chad Painter, and Pastor Jared Howell.
