According to an article published by Cleveland, the Bulldog Summer Bash kicked off last week on Aug. 6. Adults and young people enjoyed various activities at the event. The recent proceeding was part of Olmsted People’s Heritage Days.

The historic Bulldog Summer Bash brought families together. It was part of the mission as organizers improved the gathering yearly.

Pastor Neil Clark, the pastor of Grace Church, said the event is significant to the parish. The church family welcomed families. They spent time with them throughout the event. Pastor Clark said he offered the campus of the church to show support to the community.

Despite changes, people in Olmsted enjoyed proceedings prepared by organizers and several families. Jen Prugar, among the event planners, hosted numerous playing activities for children. These include the shooting gallery, dunk tank, fire truck, and squad.

Olmsted Fall historian Jim Wallace talked about the original Olmsted event. He also offered gratitude to another venue they used in the evening session.

Original Bulldog Summer Bash

Historian Jim Wallace wrote in Cleveland about the successful Bulldog Summer Bash. He said he witnessed changes in the event since the original Olmsted Heritage Days held its last reunion.

According to Cleveland, Wallace said people who graduated in Olmsted Falls were part of the previous Heritage Days. He added that the gathering brought back graduates to the city. These individuals continued their careers.

Wallace stated he missed the original Olmsted Heritage Days event. Event planners resurrected the gathering in 2021. They managed to do it again recently this month of the year. He called on city leaders to help them bring back the spirit of Heritage Days next year.

Historian Jim Wallace and other graduates of their batch united in the recent celebration. They enjoyed the event as they celebrated their 50th gathering. He thanked the Olmsted Township Community Room for offering their facility during the night celebration.

The news credited the late Clint Williams, the Olmsted People’s Heritage Days founder. Event planners held the event this year from Aug. 4 to 6. Among attendees were the Gates family, the Polcar family, and the Mitsch family.

About Olmsted People’s Heritage Days in 2021

ONCW reported that Jim Wallace spearheaded the Olmsted People’s Heritage Days in 2021. He asked the community to help him launch the event that succeeded that year. In 2021, many families created events, including garage sales.

ONCW stated that Wallace announced the Bulldog Summer Bash this year earlier in June. It gave them time to prepare the proceedings included in the recent event. Grace Church also hosted the gathering that year, according to the news.

Grace Church

Grace Church has a rich history. The parish began on Bagley Road in Middleburg Heights before it planted a campus in Olmsted Falls. Approximately 50 members from the Brooklyn Alliance Church organized Grace Church. It was 1958 when they came to the area. The group purchased a property that they used as a church.

Pastor Donald Schaeffer led the church from 1962 until 1998. The congregation faced struggles under his leadership. However, he did not turn away his duty to serve God. God blessed the church with its campuses that expanded service.
