After three years of searching, King of Kings Lutheran Church in Willoughby, Ohio, finally welcomed Jeffrey Duquaine as their new pastor.

The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), the church's U.S. governing body, initially approved funding for a pastor and future growth.

The monetary grant came following the completion of a research, MSN said in a report.

Welcoming Jeff Duquaine as New Pastor

The news outlet bared that pastor Duquaine and his family now occupy the Lost Nation Road parsonage. The facility is close to the church building, the report said.

MSN also said the Duquaine family transferred to the parsonage from California so Pastor Jeff could serve the church.

The news outlet disclosed that the pastor has joined the Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce and has been involved in the community following his transfer.

MSN added that Duquaine and his family want to remain in Willoughby for the foreseeable future. The report said Pastor Jeff did not attend any of the religious group's preschools, elementary schools, or high schools.

Duquaine also admitted that he had no relatives or pastors in his family employed at any of the church's schools.

How Pastor Jeff Decided to Enter Ministry Life

The news outlet said Pastor Jeff initially wanted to become a respiratory therapist. The pastor reportedly attended general classes before his respiratory therapist studies, which lasted more than one year.

Duquaine decided to pursue a different line of work after discovering that entering the ministry does not need one to fit a particular profile.

MSN said one of Duquaine's main goals is to teach others how to greet guests.

According to him, one of the most important things is to assist in making a cultural transformation to become a church that is 'not just for the community but a church that is in the community.'

The news outlet said Duquaine sees King of Kings Lutheran Church as a possible place to start over with his mission.

Furthermore, Duquaine told MSN their congregation provides a sizable financial contribution to the ministry, allowing them to use a full-time pastor and attempt to become part of the community.

He added that they also determine whether they can improve their outreach to expand and once more become independent.

Duquaine will start working at the end of March.

His duties include getting to know the neighborhood, assessing what the church possesses, and thinking about how to improve in the future, per the report.

At the moment, Jeffrey Duquaine is collaborating with Grant Elementary School to establish a tutoring program within the church, MSN said.
