Todd, Julie Chrisley face 19 years in prison, talk about faith, listening to Bishop T. D. Jakes

Two celebrities, Todd and Julie Chrisley became felons after they pleaded guilty to a couple of federal charges. They were hosts of the television reality show Chrisley Knows Best.

The Chrisleys received their sentences in Atlanta. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, they will be in prison in mid-January. The federal judge who reviewed their case sentenced them to dissimilar years behind bars. 

The couple spoke about how they prepared for their upcoming imprisonment. Fox 5 Atlanta obtained statements from Todd and Julie Chrisley in their podcast. The title of the podcast was Chrisley Confessions.

Holding Onto Faith

Todd and Julie Chrisley hold their faith in God. They stated they became closer to Him through prayer. The couple confessed their Christian faith helped them prepare ahead of their sentences.

Despite pleading guilty, Todd Chrisley insisted he did not commit tax evasion and fraud.

Julie Chrisley said they plan to become faithful Christians. She stated she wanted to honor those people who discredited them. Julie Chrisley explained it was because it was something she could do to overcome their challenges.

Prays for the Guidance of God

The Chrisleys pray for the guidance of God ahead of their federal sentences. Todd encouraged Julie to call God for them to surpass the challenges of their family. He referred to his discourse in words written in the Bible. The man said the Bible says people should call God.

After that, Todd Chrisley mentioned Bishop T.D. Jakes of Dallas, Texas-based megachurch, The Potter’s House. He stated he listens to the sermons of the bishop. It was one of the reasons he had a robust faith in God.

Also, Chrisley said he found direction on the path God created. It is to walk with Him in life amid challenges.

Their Years Behind Bars

The United States Department of Justice released court records of Todd and Julie Chrisley. CNN reported the DOJ press release and statement of the legal representative. According to CNN, Judge Eleanor L. Ross indicted Julie Chrisley for seven years behind bars. Her husband faces more than ten years in prison.

Aside from the couple, the judge also sentenced another involved individual. His name is Peter Tarantino. CNN stated Tarantino worked with the Chrisleys as their accountant. The three indicted individuals were under supervised release.

CNN stated that the DOJ said the Chrisleys spent the money on their personal belongings. They purchased designer clothes, luxury cars, and real estate. Additionally, the DOJ reported they spent money from fraudulent transactions on their travel expenses.
