Village Church pastor set to return to pulpit, church elders talk about restoration

The awaited return of Pastor Matt Chandler ended after the elders of The Village Church announced his return. They informed the congregation via email earlier this week. Church Leaders obtained the written statement and anticipated returning to the minister's pulpit this weekend.

Church Leaders reported that The Village Church, TVC elders said Pastor Matt Chandler completed restoration. His temporary leave from the church resulted in his involvement in an inappropriate connection with a woman, not his wife.

The news credited the pastor for his faithfulness in God. He followed the church elders' recommendation. Pastor Matt Chandler will come back focused on serving the Lord.

Email of Church Elders

On Dec. 1, elders of The Village Church updated the congregation regarding the return of Pastor Matt Chandler. The email stated the pastor sets to preach on service this weekend, Sunday, Dec. 4.

Before the recent email, the elders sent two emails regarding his possible return. After his successful reconciliation, Pastor Chandler received recognition from church elders stated in the email.

Conducts Investigation Regarding Inappropriate Online Messaging

The Village Church worked with a third-party origination during the investigation of the inappropriate online messaging. Their collaborative efforts found out Pastor Matt Chandler did not commit heinous activity.

However, the pastor violated one of the policies of the church. It was the social media rules of The Village Church. Pastor Josh Patterson, one of the associates of Pastor Chandler, was the church leader who disclosed information regarding the third-party organization.

The Aug. 28 announcement of the Village Church addressed the pastor had no other leadership issues against Pastor Matt Chandler.

His Confession

Before his temporary leave, Pastor Matt Chandler admitted the issue he committed. In late August, The Roys Report reported the message of Pastor Matt Chandler to the congregation.

Pastor Chandler admitted he exchanged messages with a woman he knew on Instagram. Their connection lasted until one of the church members reached him. The woman told the pastor she was the friend of the woman he entertained online.

The pastor said he discussed the issue with his wife. After that, Pastor Chandler consulted with the elders of The Village Church. Leaders who helped him address the issue were Senior Minister Josh Patterson of TVC and Chairman Jasien Swords. The investigation began then.

Completes Restoration

Church elders of The Village Church concluded Pastor Matt Chandler regretted the online relationship. They explained he focused his life on his mission in his theological career. Elders added he followed the recommendations of The Village Church during his healing.

Their statement ended with gratitude for Pastor Chandler. Leaders stated he was ready to regain his position.
