Latest Honorees

Jim Ceplecha and Pamela Mott are the latest recipients of the formal recognition in June 2022. They both share over 40 years of experience in Christian Brothers Services and other religious organizations.

Ceplecha, director of Defined Contribution Plans, has been working with Christian Brothers Services for more than 40 years now. He has overseen the defined benefit and defined contribution plans for the organization in the last 29 years.

Currently, he is also part of the faculty of Lewis University’s Exploring Lasallian Mission (ELM) workshop for five years now. He is also a Fellow of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists. He is also a board member of the Diocese of Joliet Priests Retirement Plan and the chair of the Church Benefit Association’s Retirement Planning Group, as stated on his profile on Christian Brothers Services.

On the other hand, Mott has been affiliated with leadership roles in human resources both at Lewis University and Christian Brothers Services for 47 years. She also served as a board director for La Salle Manor Retreat Center in Plano, Illinois, as mentioned in the same article.

Even after her retirement in 2018, she still upholds the Lasallian mission as a trustee at Lewis University. She is still a member of its mission and diversity committee and on the boards of La Salle Manor and Christian Brothers Employee Retirement Plan.

Christian Brothers Services

Based on its official website, Christian Brothers Services aims to serve the Catholic Church community and other faith-based organizations. Its programs and services are designed to meet the needs of the organization. It lives by the Lasallian tradition.

Since its founding in 1960, its mission aims to address the needs of its members. It protects the human and financial resources of institutions and guide member organizations in finding practical solutions to business needs.

The organization started as a mutual cooperative by Brother Joel Damian and the rest of the De La Salle Christian Brothers. It also has a non-profit status with its mission funds, Christian Brothers Conference. The said national agency is in Washington, D.C. It has currently served more than 70,000 students at all year levels across the United States and Canada.

Christian Brothers Services continues to carry the Lasallian mission that embodies the vision and innovative spirit of Saint John Baptist de La Salle. Though it does not have students in classrooms, the organization provides plans and programs that help its members fulfill their individual missions in life.

The recent Letters of Affiliation were a formal recognition and acknowledgment by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. These are given to those who supported their work. Such honorees have outstanding gifts and services, as well as exemplary professional, personal, and fraternal relationships with them.

According to the same La Salle Relan article, the Letters of Affiliation also signify that the Brothers welcome and celebrate the recipients as honorary members of the Institute.
