A local church in Colorado has recently asked for prayers for the soul of a six-year-old boy who died after being bitten by a rattlesnake. A GoFundMe is created for those who wish to donate to the funeral of the young boy.

Calvary Worship Center Seeks for Prayers

Calvary Worship Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is currently grieving the death of six-year-old Simon Currat. As per the interview of KRDO Newschannel 13, the church's children's director Michelle Johnson said that the boy's family called the congregation to seek prayers for the kid.

The local church noted that the Currat family has been attending services for a while now. Simon, in fact, was said to be an active participant in the church and was also friends with many of the children in the congregation.

She added that Simon was a kind boy in the church that offered friendship to anyone, especially those who had no friends to begin with.

"Full of life, and he just loves the Lord. So as individuals who believe in Jesus Christ, we know that he's with God, and there's great joy in that," Johnson said.

As per Johnson, the church pastors and members of the church were already notified of Simon's death and asked them for prayers for his soul. So far, a GoFundMe page was already created to help the Currat family with the expenses of the funeral.

According to the post, someone named David Mullen made the page to help the family's expenses. He described himself as a person that is residing near the Bluestem Prairie Open Space, where the little boy was bitten by a snake.

He added, "the only thing his family has asked for are prayers, but I'm sure expenses have been incurred such as gas for trips to and from Denver, lost time at work, etc. Anything you are able or willing to help with, to ease the financial burdens, I'm sure would be greatly appreciated by his family."

So far, the donation page has already raised nearly $12,000, with the goal of up to $15,000.

How Did it Happen?

As per the report from KRDO, Simon was with his father and sister when the incident happened.

The young boy was reportedly riding a bike at Bluestem Prairie Open Space with his family when they stopped for a water break. Simon then ran and walked towards a mile marker sign.

Suddenly, the kid shouted, "rattlesnake!" His dad immediately went to check on his son and saw that the boy had been bitten by a snake. According to the GoFundMe page, the dad had no phone with him, so they went to the nearest neighborhood to get some help.

There, they were able to contact 911 and seek medical care for his son. He was reportedly treated with an anti-venom shot and was even transferred to the local children's hospital.

Unfortunately, after a couple of days of hospitalization, Simon's body gave up. Thus, the family decided to remove his life support.
