Bishop Charles E. Blake celebrates 82nd birthday with international faith leaders

On Sunday, Aug. 7, the congregation of the West Angeles Church of God in Christ, along with religious leaders from throughout the world, celebrated the 82nd birthday of Bishop Charles E. Blake, whose birthday was on Aug. 5. 

Having Joyous Birthday Celebration with Religious Leaders

During the morning service on Sunday, Aug. 7, Pastor Charles Blake II led the congregation in praising God for giving the bishop a long life. According to the Los Angeles Sentinel, this praise was a joyful celebration combined with worship filled with the spirit. 

Additionally, as the report stated, the presence of Lady Mae, who has been loyally serving Bishop Blake throughout his entire ministerial journey, further demonstrated the Lord's blessing that has been bestowed upon him. 

They believe that her presence was regal and represented the Lord's blessing.

It also stated that others who spoke during the ceremony were Harry Hargrave, the CEO of the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., and the Rev. Dr. A.R. Bernard, the pastor of the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, New York.

During the service, Hargrave and Bernard paid tribute to the community's elders by giving a blessing. A very special presentation was also delivered to Bishop Blake by Denzel Washington, who has been a member of the West Angeles COGIC for a very long time. 

As the end of the ceremony drew near, the illustrious singer Stevie Wonder, who has also been a member for a very long time, serenaded the bishop.
