Founders Metropolitan Community Church in Los Angeles will host a Living Without a Why: An evening of music and conversation on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m.

Living Without a Why: An Evening of Music, Conversation with Che Espinoza, Derek Webb

Founders MCC will answer the question, "What could it mean to ‘live without a why’?" during the event.

In fact, they even cited the words of German poet and liberation theologian Dorothee Sölle, who declared that a soul that is able to live in this spirit doesn't need to defend its existence but rather enjoys the glory of being alive in the present moment.

Living without an explanation for one's actions is to live and love in the same way as God does. It's about doing things without expecting praise or praise from others, according to the poet.

As per the church’s announcement posted on All Events, the Founders MCC would like to extend an invitation to the community to join Dr. Roberto Che Espinoza and Derek Webb for an evening of poetry and song, conversation and storytelling centered on the topic of individuals finding themselves at home and being fully present in their bodies, spiritualities, and communities.

Excerpts from Dr. Roberto's newest book, “Body Becoming: A Path To Our Liberation,” and preview tracks from Derek's upcoming new album, The Jesus Hypothesis, will be featured in this very engaging evening with a conversational style that follows the thread of stories in the room.

An after-show meet-and-greet and question-and-answer session will take place at approximately 8:30 p.m.; this event can be purchased as an add-on to the ticket.

The event is "Bring your own bottle," which means that anyone attending is welcome to bring their own refreshments.

The costs of the ticket ranges from $25 for general admission, an additional $15 if the attendees want to avail of the after-show meet and greet, and another $28 if they want to purchase Espinoza's Book: Body Becoming.
