Despite continuing declines in COVID-19 cases in Orange County, the OC Health Care Agency encourages anyone who hasn't been vaccinated against deadly viruses, like COVID-19 and flu, to do so.

According to the Orange County Breeze, adults and children over the age of 3 will be able to receive the flu vaccination at three HCA locations from Oct. 18 to Nov. 5.

The County of Orange Social Services Agency's Santa Ana Regional Office, St. Anthony Mary Claret Church in Anaheim, and Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa are among those locations.

"Studies continue to show that receiving a COVID-19 vaccine reduces infections, hospitalizations, and deaths. Now that we have entered the flu season getting infected with COVID-19 as well as the flu is a real possibility for anyone who is not yet vaccinated against either disease or is at risk. We encourage the public to continue protecting themselves and loved ones by advocating for COVID-19 and flu vaccination this upcoming holiday season," Deputy County Health Officer Dr. Regina Chinsio-Kwong said, as quoted in the report.

These clinics will also offer the COVID-19 vaccine to those who qualify.

The CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics say that eligible children and adults can receive the flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine at the same time without experiencing any adverse effects.

The Church's Outreach Activities

Even though they are a modest religious congregation with limited resources, the church's St. Vincent de Paul Society provides free weekly food distribution, clothing, rental assistance, and other services to over 100 low-income families.

Their mobile van works in conjunction with the Lestonnac Clinic to provide dental care to low-income families, as well as St. Joseph/St. Jude/La Amistad Health Clinic to treat patients without health insurance or proper healthcare.

Aside from that, they help more than 1,100 students by supporting family-friendly initiatives such as Padre Unidos, a partnership between Chapman University, and a group of local churches.
