Brownsville Church of Christ to host series of events from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2

The Brownsville Church of Christ in Miami, Florida, will soon host a series of events in line with its planned ‘weekend of praise, fun, and recognition.’ The gathering will be held from Friday, Sept. 30, until Sunday, Oct. 2, on the church grounds at 4561 Northwest 33rd Court. 

Minister’s Appreciation Weekend

Themed ‘Living with Purpose on this Wisdom Journey,’ the ‘Minister’s Appreciation Weekend’ of the Brownsville Church of Christ in Miami, Florida, will reportedly feature a lot of events. As per its Eventbrite page, young kids to adults are welcome to the gathering to have fun and show appreciation to the church’s ministers. 

On the first day of the event on Sept. 30, attendees will have a ‘Song Fest Friday’ event happening at 6:30 p.m. As reported, it will feature different gospel artists, including Hope Church of Christ Praise Team, Majestic Voices for Christ, Majestic Juniors, Focus, and many more. 

All kids that are ages three and below are free to attend the concert fest, while four to 10-year-olds will be charged $10 per person. Adults who want to attend the concert must pay $15 per person. 

On the next day of the Brownsville events, cook-off and baking competitions will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church encourages all who can cook and bake to join the contest to win a cash prize. 

Those who want to join the competitions must register by Sept. 1 to avail of the early bird fee of $25. After that, all participants must pay $50 to join the contest. As explained, there will be plates available at the event that are priced at $5 per table. 

Meanwhile, on the last day of the event, the Brownsville Church of Christ will finally celebrate its ‘Ministers’ Appreciation’ program. 

This specific event will be held at 10 a.m. and will be led by Bro. Dexter Smith in the gospel music, along with the guest speaker, Andrew Braxter, the current senior pastor of the Rose City Community Church of Christ.

Lastly, at 2 p.m., the ‘Appreciation Banquet’ will be organized at the Las Vegas Banquet Hall, 1475 W. Okeechobee Drive, Ste. 12, in Hialeah, Florida. All attendees of the said event must pay at least $40 by Sunday, Sept. 25, to reserve their seats for the gathering. 

As reported, they can book their reservations via the church’s app or on Eventbrite’s page. So far, the selling of tickets on Eventbrite is not yet available, but it will go on sale on Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. 

Minister Harrell Henton

A graduate of Miami Carol City Senior High school and Florida Memorial College, Minister Harrell Henton is the current church leader at Brownsville Church of Christ. 

He has been the pastor in the Miami church since 2011, where he reportedly continued to spread the Word of God and build a ‘family-oriented church,’ as per its church website. 

According to the website, Minister Henton is responsible not only in the ministry but also as a full-time chaplain for the church.
