New Baptist Church holds back-to-school food distribution program

The New Baptist Church in Miami, Florida, recently partnered with Farm Share for a back-to-school food distribution program.

As per its Facebook page, the event happened from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, at the church premises. According to the post, the event is a drive-thru, and everyone can come to the event until supplies last.

The church also gave thanks to its partner, Farm Share, and its continued assistance to the community.

New Baptist Church and Farm Share have been reportedly working together to provide food distribution every month.

New Birth Baptist Church

According to its church page, the New Baptist Church is a church founded on the principle that “Faith Honors God – God Honors Faith.” It calls itself a Christ-centered church that’s for imperfect people.

The church also said that its mission is to bring people to a redemptive relationship with Jesus Christ. It also says that it strives to be the agents of healing and wholeness for the wounded and the fragmented. 

New Birth follows its mission to honor Jesus Christ and bring glory to God. The church believes in the Bible and the Holy Trinity and that there is unity in the three.

Further, the church believes in the importance of salvation as Jesus died for the sins of men and rose from the dead.

When it comes to ordinances, the church follows Baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. According to the church, Communion commemorates the church’s love for Jesus Christ.

Bishop Victor Tyrone Curry

Bishop Victor Tyrone Curry is the current leader and founder of the New Birth Baptist Church. According to the church page, Bishop Curry is described as a preacher, author, teacher, and social activist with over three decades of experience in the ministry.

The page also said that prior to him founding his own church, he was the pastor of the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church for seven years.

Under his leadership, the New Baptist Church expanded and had its own radio station, a broadcasting corporation, and even its own community development corporation.

Apart from his expansive leadership skills, he is the founding Moderator of the Progressive Kingdom Baptist Association of the Florida General Baptist Convention, Inc. He’s also an ordained Bishop of the International Bishops Conference.

As a social activist, he has been involved in multiple projects that sent relief to Haiti and the South Florida Haitian community. Also, he has been a part of mission trips, food pantries, and other financial contributions to charitable institutions and schools.

Farm Share

Farm Share is a non-profit organization that works to provide food to the food insecure people of Florida. The organization strives to do its mission without charging any organization or individual for their help.

The organization works through the efforts of donors and farmers who help to provide and distribute healthy and nutritious food to those who need it. 

On its page, it says that the organization has over 2,000 partners working for the same cause.

Over the years, the organization has provided the countries of Florida with more than 136 million pounds of food.
