St. Teresa of Avila Parish will host the last installment of the "Collective Wisdom Series" on Monday, Dec. 6.

The church is located in Summit, New Jersey.

The event intends to unite parish music ministers to craft best practices for church worship.

Collective Wisdom Series

According to Jersey Catholic, organists, cantors, choir members, and liturgists will attend the event.

The church also reportedly aims to assemble pastoral ministries in similar ministries.

Furthermore, the initiative encourages them to share useful and valuable ideas.

The report said that the series would be a way to achieve a brighter parish life for the Catholics.

Local parish music directors from Union County will reportedly spearhead the event.

Jersey Catholic has interviewed Msgr. Robert Meyer, the pastor of St. Teresa of Avila Parish. He said that the Collective Wisdom Series will be "interactive and fun."

Meyer reiterated that his music director had led the charge for the event. According to him, his music director has tapped the help of other musical directors.

Moreover, the parish pastor further stressed that he wanted to form a "collaborative program."

Meyer also emphasized that the Collective Wisdom Series is like a "home-grown" story.

The first installment of the event kicked off in September. It focused on promoting communication within parishes. The Collective Wisdom Series continued in October with an event highlighting faith formation.

Meanwhile, the church also conducted an event in November that emphasized social justice.

The Series, ‘Vine and Branches’ Campaign

Bishop Elias Lorenzo reportedly bared to the Jersey Catholic that the series is part of the "Vine and Branches" initiative. He is an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Newark.

The campaign is the effort of the Archdiocese to bring Catholics back to church.

Bishop Lorenzo has been instrumental in promoting the Collective Wisdom Series to the faithful. Aside from that, the bishop has been welcoming participants to every session.

Lorenzo described his experiences with the series as both "positive and successful."

According to him, it is encouraging to see parish ministers discussing the best practices.

"Mutual assistance has been the fruit of this series," the Archdiocesan auxiliary bishop said.

Bishop Lorenzo prays that the initiative blossoms into a regular opportunity for collaboration. He also hopes that the discussion will result in regular professional development.

Seeing Things in a Different Perspective

Msgr. Meyer, meanwhile, believes that the series would serve as a reminder to the faithful.

He said that "even the places that think we have it all organized – that there's always room for improvement."

The pastor remarked that people must take a second look at things. He believes that individuals must look at things from a different perspective.

He claimed that the main goal of the Collective Wisdom Series is to bring people together.
