Central Florida Christian Academy is set to battle Northside Christian on Friday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m. Head football coach Jeremy Campbell boasts that this will be the school's biggest game to date.

'War Over the Battle'

In a report with Orange Observer, Campbell expressed his excitement for the upcoming match. He also said that the team has practiced in preparation for the fall season.

The football team's motto for the season is "War Over the Battle."

According to the report, its motto meant that while the goal is the state championship game, the "war becomes the longevity of the season and the battles are the games on Friday night."

The football team explained that they were preparing to win the war, not the battle. To do so, they expect that they would lose some matches to get along their way.

Mental, Physical Preparation

As reported, the team expects a tougher schedule ahead of them compared to previous years.

The head coach explained that they had been very successful in their plays for the past few years. Campbell added that when a team happens to be doing well in their matches, certain schools do not want to have a match with them.

Campbell said that he wanted to be pitted against those schools that were in a higher classification than them. He explained that this would mean that they could get some quality work during the regular season.

He admitted that he understood that they would lose some of those games. Campbell pointed out that they were "preparing for a war, not a battle."

Key Players

The head coach said that the team had a roster of key players to look out for. These included Jaylin Acevedo, Jacob Kania, Justin Preaster, and Anthony Milton.

The Eagles also had a new player in West Orange transferee Jeremiah Byrdsell.

Campbell told the news outlet that he believed in their capabilities. The team was a mix of juniors and seniors.

He worked with Acevedo and Preaster in previous years. The coach pointed out that these two players were already on their natural time.

Campbell added that Byrdsell transferred to the school early this spring. The coach admired how much Byrdsell improved in his game.

Campbell pointed out that Byrdsell already had the makings of a good defensive player.

As the team looks forward to their first match on Friday, Campbell has nothing but admiration for them and believes in their skills and abilities.

He commended their dedication and teamwork. Campbell expressed his excitement about their performance in the field but said that they are still continuing to be better.
