The outreach pastor of Silver Star Christian Church said there was a need to show compassion. Rosemarie Roth has been helping people in Central Florida for over 20 years.

Familiar Face

In a report with Spectrum News, Roth has become a familiar face in the area. She spends her time volunteering for seven churches on any given week.

She told the news outlet that many people still needed help, especially during the holidays.

The outreach pastor is a regular volunteer at the End Time Sabbath Worship Center. Those who visit the church to get food would often hug and greet her.

Many regulars who frequent the food pantry have come to see her as a comforting figure. They saw her as a familiar and welcoming face.

Roth said that she was always thankful that she could help others. That was something that she was grateful for during the holidays when many people needed some cheering up.

She shared that she made it a point to talk with people to figure out what she could do for them. The pastor said they also needed someone to talk to.

She told the news outlet that there were many people in need. The pastor stressed that everyone capable of helping should fill that need.

Frequent Volunteer

Roth recently had hip replacement surgery. She carries a walking stick to help her get around. She shared that she also had some surgery done on both her shoulders.

The pastor explained that her injuries were a result of her transporting and carrying boxes over the years.

"I wore out my hip and my two shoulders," she said of her injuries.

Roth spends most of her week helping distribute food at the different churches. She also assists with the sorting and packing of the items.

Teaching Sustainability

The outreach pastor also wants people to learn about sustainability. She teaches children how to plant a garden at the Silver Star Christian Church.

When asked how many people she has helped over the years, Roth answered that she does not want to count. She emphasized that she did not expect anything back in return.

She also volunteers her services at weddings and funerals. According to the news outlet, Roth has made an impact all over Central Florida.

At her church in Pine Hills, the pastor distributed the essentials families needed for Thanksgiving. She also donated body lotion to the homeless.

She explained that it helped with the cold weather.

The pastor said that Thanksgiving is her favorite holiday because she gets to offer food and break bread as Christ did with His disciples.

Life's Mission

Roth told Spectrum News that no injury could stop her from continuing her life's mission, which is helping others. The pastor stressed that she would persist despite the circumstances.

She has teamed up with several churches in Central Florida to help her with her mission.
