American music artist Crowder recently joined the official roster of musical talent who will be featured at Universal Studios' Rock the Universe 2022.' The musical event will take place on Jan. 28-30, 2022.

New Musical Act

In a report with Spectrum News, the music artist will perform on Jan. 28.

The Orlando theme park revealed the performance schedules of the musical acts on their official website.

Joining Crowder on that date are performances from King & Country, Matthew West, Jordan Feliz Rhett Walker, and Riley Clemmons.

Meanwhile, the musical acts of Casting Crowns, Zach Williams, Big Daddy Weave, Cory Asbury, We the Kingdom, and Social Club Misfits will headline on Jan. 29.

Finding Faith

According to CCM Magazine, David Wallace Crowder was the lead singer of the now-defunct David Crowder Band.

Crowder pursued his solo career in 2012 under sixstepsrecords and Sparrow Records labels.

Spectrum News reported that the Grammy nominee released his fourth studio album, "Milk and Honey," this year.

According to Doug Van Pelt of CCM Magazine, Crowder is arguably the "greatest worship songwriter of all time."

The article said that the Christian singer tended to be unorthodox.

When asked how he came to know Christ, the artist said that his parents were protective of him. They told him that they did not want him to make a commitment when he was too young.

His parents had him join a Camp Meeting at the children's church in Tulsa. The organizers introduced the children to a purple puppet named Eugene. He and the other students learned songs about Jesus thanks to the mascot.

Crowder added that he got to know about Christ thanks to a "puppet ministry."

Surprisingly, when he told his parents about the news, they were happy for him. Crowder told Van Pelt that he committed to Christ when he was only seven years old.

The music artist said his voice is "a work in progress." He pointed out his development throughout his four studio albums.

'Unforgettable Weekend of Faith and Fun'

On its website, Universal Studios called the music event an "unforgettable weekend of faith and fun."

The Orlando Informer said that Rock the Universe 2022 is "Florida's biggest Christian music festival."

According to the article, Universal Studios launched the event in 1998. Back then, Walt Disney World also had its Christian rock festival, 'Night of Joy.'

Walt Disney's musical fest ended in 2016. Before Disney canceled their event, both studios scheduled their events on the same weekend.

Musical Acts

Over the years, Universal Studios added more features to its event. They included autograph signing sessions, a live DJ, and a candle-lighting ceremony.

Universal Studios said that the event was created to support youth ministry.

Up-and-coming musical acts will also perform at the FanZone during the weekend event. Meanwhile, a Sunday morning worship and prayer service will take place on Sunday, Jan. 30. The service will conclude the event.

The worship service is non-denominational, according to the announcement.

Tickets for 'Rock the Universe 2022' is already up for sale at the Universal Studios website.
