First Christian Church of Mesa serves community with two food pantries

First Christian Church of Mesa works with local organizations to reach out to the community. It regularly holds Mobile Food Pantry, which will be held on Aug. 12,  Friday, and La Mesa, Meal and Outreach, which is scheduled on Aug. 9, 16, and 30, Wednesdays.

The two events provide food for those who are qualified for the program.

Mobile Food Pantry

As shared on the church’s calendar of events, the United Food Bank and Child Crisis Arizona work together to create a Mobile Food Pantry. On the other hand, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Mesa serves as the host for this outreach.  

The church also welcomes anyone who wants to serve to start at 7 a.m. As shared on the calendar, service begins at 8 a.m. Mobile Food Pantry is open to all eligible members of the community. 

People availing of the Mobile Food Pantry for the first time must answer a simple form. The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Mesa does not require proof of identification. 

According to the church’s announcement, when recipients get supplies from the mobile pantry, they are stating that they meet income guidelines for the program. Those who have questions are encouraged to contact Child Crisis Arizona.  

Mobile Food Pantry welcomes all under the Ramada behind the main building of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Mesa. 

As shared on its website, food distribution to its 145-plus agency partners was made possible through its food and grocery partners and food drives.

The United Food Bank began in July 1983 in the East Valley.

It started its operations as United Food Distribution Center, Inc. To expand its reach, the United Food Bank works with 145 partner agencies and programs that help feed kids, seniors, and families. 

La Mesa Meal, Worship and Outreach 

According to the church’s calendar, this regular gathering at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) gives the community free and hot meals. The La Mesa Ministries provides the meals. 

All are welcome to La Mesa Meal, Worship, and Outreach. Worship follows the meal. However, attending worship is not required to avail of free food. 

Meals from La Mesa Ministries are available at the church from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays. 

As per its website, the La Mesa Ministries’ mission is to establish Christ-focused ministries among the homeless and working poor. It aspires that such communities will deliver hope, dignity, and positive life change.

La Mesa Ministries gathers in two venues, including First Christian Church of Mesa.

According to its Facebook page, this faith community is located at 805 N Country Club Dr., Mesa. Worship happens on Sundays, beginning at 10 in the morning. 

First Christian Church of Mesa believes the Lord calls it to share the good news of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving, and serving others from its doorsteps across the Earth.
