Richwoods Christian Church to discuss practices on raising kids

Richwoods Christian Church invited everyone to join in "Raising Resilient Kids," an event for parents on Friday, Oct. 14, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. David Thomas, LMSW, will serve as the speaker of the event.

Parenting, Resilient Children

Richwoods Christian Church provided details about Raising Resilient Kids through its website. The church and David Thomas, LMSW, would provide parents with an evening of knowledge about resiliency. 

Attendees would have the opportunity to identify the biggest hindrances in nurturing resilience.

Moreover, Raising Resilient Kids would provide intentional practices to help kids develop the virtue of resilience. 

As stated in the announcement, the event will explore the challenge of balancing support-identifying when to provide more and when to allow children to experience discomfort that leads to good growth. 

Richwoods Christian Church assured everyone is welcome to ask questions and go home with practical ideas for nurturing resilience in their kids and teens. 

Raising Resilient Kids is a free event and covers childcare from birth until eighth grade. Everyone who wanted to avail of childcare was advised to register. However, slots are limited, so the church encouraged those interested to register asap.

Call for Volunteers 

Richwoods Christian Church needs volunteers to help Raising Resilient kids. It assured volunteers they do not need to worry about missing the content as they serve. 

The church promised to record the entire event. It will send a link to all volunteers who served at Raising Resilient Kids. Richwoods Christian Church provided a link for registration for the event and signing up as a volunteer. 

Richwoods Christian Church also announced that it is organizing a choir. It encouraged its congregation to join the group.

On the other hand, Jeremiah Soleil serves as Worship Pastor, and Alyssa Wier serves as the Campus Pastor.
