Through its Lead Pastor Mark Foreman, the faith community of North Coast Calvary Chapel delivered a Thanksgiving message for everyone. In an interview with Logan Byrnes in Good Evening San Diego, Pastor Foreman stated that 2021 is a special Thanksgiving.

Everyone missed last year’s, and as people gather on Thanksgiving Day, it’s going to be a big day. Pastor Foreman shared some insights on how everyone can go about this special event for many Americans.

According to the pastor, first, it's Thanks – and cited the Torah, Psalm 118, which says Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love for you and me endures forever. He also shared the version of the New Testament - Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for all of us.

He emphasized that the two versions have one message – say thank you. The lead pastor continued by saying gratitude is a part of all cultures, all religions, and on Thanksgiving, everyone can do such.

Pastor Foreman also gave three areas he suggested one should be thankful for. First, he asked everyone to thank the Lord for another day, as one wakes up, to be grateful for the partner or spouse.

He asked people to think about what they wanted to become. The period between Thanksgiving and the new year is the time to think through. It’s a time to focus on one’s identity and to take steps towards that.

Next, Pastor Foreman requested that everyone should be thankful for other people. As the celebration of Thanksgiving happens the next day, listen to others, find out what they are going through, and do not judge.

He mentioned what the Bible says about giving – it is more blessed to give than to receive. Pastor Foreman also emphasized the unity that might form around the Thanksgiving table.

Finally, everyone is encouraged to think of the word thank You and to focus on You.

According to Pastor Foreman, when people say thank you, you is a reference to someone up there.

In the latter part of the interview, Logan Byrnes stated that they’ll try to remember to love each other, share special times with friends and family on Thanksgiving, and always try to put some differences aside so all can get to a better place.
