Paseo Del Rey goes to Trolley Trestle. Starting this Nov. 28 – Dec.12, the church will collect gifts to be delivered to the residents.

Sharing Love

As per its website, Paseo Del Rey announces its plan of bringing joy and the Christmas spirit to Trolley Trestle. It will provide gifts for young adult residents and their children at the center.

Paseo Del Rey will start collecting gifts this Nov. 28 until Dec.12. Everyone will have an opportunity to select a name at the Hub and purchase a gift for a special young adult or child at Trolley Trestle.

The church needs all gifts returned by Sunday. Those who want to give can drop donations until Dec. 12 during office hours. Then, a group from Paseo del Rey will pack and provide dinner to Trolley Trestle soon.

As stated in a video on YouTube, Trolley Trestle provides traditional housing to former foster youth. The organization offers a place to live at 18 – 24, but residents get case management, therapy, and support services.

When participants arrived at Trolley Trestle, they were completely isolated, alone, and did not have a support system. The youth came in, and they were very distrusting of adults.

Trolley Trestle aims to be life-lasting for the participants. Its goal is to be a home for people who never had a home. Additionally, the progress made in Trolley Trestle cannot be seen in statistics; the amazing things that happen are the things that happen daily that aren’t captured.

Paseo Del Rey

The church is located at 900 Paseo Del Rey, Chula Vista, CA. As indicated on its webpage, Sunday service happens at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The church provides indoor and outdoor seating for the service.

Paseo is a relaxed, diverse, and active family of believers. For Paseo, the church is not somewhere to attend to, but a people to belong to. It invites everyone to come to experience the gospel of Christ and to find people to connect with.

Its values are summed up to three:

  • Love God completely.
  • Love each other as a family.
  • Love outside of oneself sacrificially.

It is a member of The Evangelical Free Church of America, an association of approximately 1 500 autonomous churches across the U.S.

Paseo Del Rey had its humble beginning as a small group Bible study in a home. Chula Vista women’s club became its next home when it needed more space.

Years later, it purchased a property and constructed new buildings. This site is now the present location of Paseo Del Rey Church. In 1987, the congregation built the worship center. In 1992, two-story office and classroom buildings were built.

Ministries

Paseo Del Rey Church believes that the best relationships are created when one jumps in and gets involved, serves, and shares life with others.

Growth Groups

As shared on the website, the church encourages everyone to be part of a Growth Group. The group is composed of 10 -15 people who meet every week to grow together as a group, towards becoming entirely devoted followers of Jesus.

Paseo Del Rey Missions

Paseo Del Rey engages in local partnerships, short-term mission trips, and missionaries around the world. All of these are for its ultimate purpose of bringing the Gospel of Jesus everywhere.
