RB Community Church features San Diego Master Chorale
San Diego Master Chorale performs at RB Community Church on Oct. 14. As indicated on the church webpage, its concert series feature this famous ensemble. The performance will deliver one of their most unique programs of works from film and opera.
Under the direction of Dr. John K. Russell, the concert features composers Verdi, Puccini, Handel, Bizet, Jocelyn Hagen, and Purcell.
Meanwhile, San Diego Master Chorale invites everyone to their performance at RB Community Church.
As per San Diego Master Chorale website, it encourages attendees to wear the mask on the campus. Moreover, it asks everyone to celebrate with them the successful return of RB Community Church’s Concert Series.
Aside from the mentioned composers on the church website, San Diego Master Chorale will also perform pieces from John Williams and Zenaida Robles.
The event is for free. Donations are accepted and highly – appreciated.

The ensemble continues with its mission performing as a regular participant in the San Diego Symphony’s summer series on the Embarcadero. Moreover, the San Diego Master Chorale showcases its dedication to bringing the most refined choral repertoire through embracing different genres.
It embraces classical masterworks and music from contemporary composers, film scores, and various works of many genres that bring together audiences and musicians of all religions, generations, and cultures.
Music Director - Dr. John K. Russell
San Diego Master Chorale continues its success under its Music Director, Dr. John K. Russell. As indicated on his official webpage, aside from being the San Diego Master Chorale’s music director, Dr. Russell is also the Director of Choral and Vocal Studies at Palomar College.
Dr. Russell conducts and coordinates all the performances of the chorale. This work includes coordinating chorus performances with other artists, including San Diego Symphony and other San Diego orchestras.
He is also a famous tenor soloist. As indicated on his webpage, Dr. Russell was also noted for his “heart-melting legato.” Among his recent solo performances are St. John Passion (Evangelist) with Pepperdine University, Carl Off’s Carmina Burana with the Lisbon Summer Choral Festival Chorus and Orchestra in Lisbon, Portugal, and Handel’s Acis and Galatea with the Bach Collegium San Diego.
Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 with the Westminster Summer Choral Festival and Piffaro: The Renaissance Band in Philadelphia, PA and Hector Berlioz’s Te Deum with the San Diego Symphony was also among his recent performances.
Dr. John Russell hails from Kalamazoo, Michigan.
