Palo Alto Vineyard Church in Palo Alto, California, holds a food distribution at Caltega Apartments every first and third Saturday of the month. 

Food Distribution at Caltega Apartments

Church members have been invited into a new emphasis and way to collaborate with them beginning this autumn by Reach Potential Movement, one of the community partners with which the Palo Alto Vineyard Church works.

According to the church’s announcement, the tenants of the Caltega Apartments in Mountain View have specifically requested that they foster relationships with one another, make available services to them, and pray for them. 

They will also engage with the residents of the Caltega Apartments in a significant way by contributing food and participating in the food distribution that takes place on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, there is a wide variety of support that volunteers can provide. 

Truck Drivers must attend an hour of training provided by CityTeam before they can begin their shift. Truck Drivers report to CityTeam in San Jose to pick up their loaded trucks, deliver pallets to Caltega, and then return the truck and the pallets to CityTeam.

They are also looking for someone who will work at the registration, which calls for a training session of one hour provided by CityTeam, with Spanish fluency preferable.

It is not necessary to know Spanish to assist with the Set Up, Tear Down, and Distribution of Food to the Residents, but they should be able to lift food boxes.

Posada at Caltega

Palo Alto Vineyard Church will hold a special event, “Posada at Caltega,” on Sunday, Dec. 18. 

Residents of the Caltega community are organizing their first community Posada, and they have extended an invitation to the Palo Alto Vineyard Church to participate in the celebration.

As stated in another announcement, there is a possibility that there will be opportunities to volunteer, but the major objective will be to participate in the celebration with them and develop relationships simply. 

Anyone interested in attending can sign up for the event, and additional information will be emailed to them when the date of the event draws nearer.
