St. James’ Episcopal Church in Fremont offers the St. James’ Cares and Disaster Preparedness and Response Team to help the community in times of need and be prepared for troubled times or emergency situations.

St. James' Cares

Since its inception, St. James' has been home to a warm and welcoming community in which members look out for one another. The church is aware that there are periods in the lives of all people when they could benefit from receiving some assistance.

According to the post, St. James' Cares is a resource for assistance that is available to their parishioners and is supported by other parishioners.

Everyone is welcome to take part in some capacity. They can also provide their services by volunteering to make phone calls, visit parishioners who are unable to leave their homes, cook meals, provide transportation, or run small errands in the community.

It also stated that the team at St. James' Cares is able to assist in the coordination of lay eucharistic visitation. They are able to communicate with the church by phone or email if they were unable to attend on Sundays due to a sickness or a physical limitation.

Disaster Preparedness and Response Team

Meanwhile, St. James' Disaster Preparedness and Response Team is composed of parishioners who are working together to devise strategies that will allow them to care for the church, its members, and the community around the church in the case of a crisis.

As per the post, assisting everyone in becoming more well-prepared is one of their primary goals. As of September 2014, a disaster plan was developed, and it continues to receive annual updates.

This plan is geared toward ensuring that the St. James' Episcopal Church facility is as risk-free as possible for people and their belongings. It discusses a wide range of issues connected to the subjects of personal safety, emergency preparedness, security, and loss prevention.
