The Crossing Ministry at CFC Church of Hayward launches Marriage Survival Training

CFC Church Hayward’s The Crossing Ministry invites couples to join the Marriage Survival Training from Oct. 23 to 24.

Marriage Survival Training

On their events page, The Crossing Ministry urges couples to participate in the upcoming Marriage Survival Training. The virtual event will happen from Oct. 23 to 24. Christian counselors will lead an 8-hour marriage workshop that provides dispute resolution, comfort, and intimacy strategies.

Additionally, the post revealed that the first day would be from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. The second day of the training will begin at 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. The registration cost per couple is $250. 

According to a related post, participants will learn about the obstacles that every marriage must conquer to prosper, the vices that destroy couples, and how to deal with conflict effectively during the training.

The post also said that this training is ideal for newlyweds and other married couples who wish to deepen their bond and establish healthy habits together.

The same post also revealed that the training would feature Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Esther I. Wei and Joy Wong. 

About the Instructors

According to the same page, Esther I. Wei has a clinic in the San Francisco Bay Area as a Christian Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She specializes in helping couples and individuals to help them strengthen their relationships and heal from trauma.

The page mentioned that she completed the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy at The Couples Institute under the supervision of Ellyn Bader, Ph.D., and is a Prepare-Enrich and SYMBIS instructor. 

As per the same post, as an Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Certified Therapist and a Qualified HeartSync Facilitator, she blends trauma-informed techniques. She also employs tactics such as Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment and Internal Family Systems Therapy.

Furthermore, the post said that Esther has Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Internationally Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor credentials. She also works with the House of Hope Healing Center and offers member care services for missionaries via GoLiveServe.org. 

As per the same post, in 2008, she graduated from Western Seminary with an M.A. MFT and an Addiction Studies Certificate. Esther was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Livermore, California, as a second-generation Taiwanese-American. Since 2005, she has been happily married to Charles.

Meanwhile, according to the post, Joy Wong is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who enjoys assisting others in deepening their understanding of God's love. She met her husband Anthony while attending Western Seminary for graduate school, and the two now have a clinic in Berkeley, California.

The post also said that Joy had undergone Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels 1 and 2, Prepare-Enrich, EMDR, and the Therapeutic Spiral Model. TSM is a therapeutic version of psychodrama for trauma rehabilitation. 

In addition, the same post mentioned that Joy, who majored in drama at Stanford, loves organizing drama therapy groups. She's also given mental health seminars to area counseling institutions and faith-based groups, such as the Bay Area Sunday School Convention.
