Founded in 1985, Queen of Peace Center (QOPC) is a $10 million-dollar nonprofit organization serving more than 1,300 St. Louis women and their children and families each year. We are focused exclusively on providing family-centered behavioral healthcare. Our unique model addresses the full continuum of needs for those impacted by substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and trauma by providing treatment, prevention, education, and housing.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Integrated Care Substance Use Disorder Specialist will be co-located with our partner FQHC agency. The purpose of the position is to improve access to primary care services for individuals with substance use disorders, behavioral health services for individuals with substance use disorders and behavioral health supports for individuals who require assistance in effectively managing their chronic disease or improving health disorders. Working closely with the physicians, Obstetricians, social workers and medical staff to screen, identify and engage women in need of substance use treatment services. This clinician will be well versed in Stages of Change and the SBIRT model in order to help clients elicit changes and engage in treatment, as appropriate. This clinician will also be responsible for identifying Queen of Peace Center clients appropriate for linkage with our FQHC partner and provide successful connection to the health center services.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for efficient delivery of services to clients according to approved policies and procedures meeting DMH, CSTAR and COA standards.
  • Implement SBIRT model for individuals identified as appropriate for program through FQHC
  • Utilize Motivational Interviewing to assist in eliciting change in clients
  • Adhere to standards, policies and procedures required by FQHC partner
  • Maintain clients' charts, records and files in accordance with FQHC, COA, DMH and CSTAR standards.
  • Provide knowledge about Queen of Peace Center and FQHC services
  • Assist in linkage of clients to Queen of Peace Center and to our FQHC partner agency
  • Assist in communicating with and linkage to outside agencies
  • Pursue continuing professional development, join appropriate professional groups, and attend pertinent meetings.
  • Serve as a liaison between QOPC and our FQHC partner
  • Schedule client appointments as needed
  • Verify and document all appropriate information into the EHR system and state system as directed.
  • Maintain accurate census information in billing system and document wait list in state system as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, and Training

Must have either a Master’s Degree in Counselor, Social Work or a closely related field or have a Bachelor’s Degree with a QAP qualifying credential through Missouri Credentialing Board.

At least 3 years of experience in working with individuals with substance use disorders

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
