Hope UCC Season of Sharing 2021

The church spreads joy and the love of Christ through the Season of Sharing. It prepares various opportunities for its congregation to be more like Jesus, serving as the light for those who may not be as fortunate as others.

Holiday Cheer Bags

As announced by Hope UCC, Holiday Cheer Bag donation runs from Nov. 14 – Dec.12. It encourages everyone to pick up one or more of its brightly colored Christmas Gift Bags or use their own. A list of suggested items is inside the bags and will also be included in Pastor's email.

Hope UCC expects all filled bags to church on Sunday or during office hours, Monday through Thursday, by Dec. 12. The Holiday Cheer Bags for Adults will benefit Emmaus Homes. The Holiday Cheer Bags will go to Caroline Mission, which is currently serving 100 children.

Emmaus Homes helps people with developmental disabilities. As stated on its website Emmaus acknowledges that the people it supports want to be independent. For this to happen, these people need a community that accepts their unique abilities.

As a faith-based organization, Emmaus has been providing quality services and caring for the whole person for their entire life. It has been doing this work for over 125 years.

Heifer International

Still, from Hope UCC's announcement, the church encourages everyone to purchase from Heifer International, starting Nov. 28 until Dec. 19. The purchase will benefit families in the USA and across the world. Heifer International provides a variety of animals and helps families establish a source of income.

Donation cards can be given to anyone you "bought" for, indicating you purchase a flock of chickens, honey bees, or even a water buffalo in their honor.

Christmas Fund

Formerly known as the "Veterans of the Cross," Christmas Fund helps give additional monies for health insurance premiums and pension to low–income retirees. Envelopes for this yearly United Church of Christ offering will be in bulletins on Dec. 19. The church will receive donations for this great cause until Dec. 25.

Lydia's House

The Outreach Ministry launches Holiday Gift Cards to make it easier for Hope UCC to support Lydia's House. Through its Outreach Ministry, the church asks for gift cards from Walmart, Target, Schnucks, Amazon, or Old Navy.

As per its website, Lydia's House's mission is to end domestic violence by being a place of healing and a voice of hope for abused women and children. It partners with churches. The faith communities can get involved through worship, outreach, and mission, creating a safe space and education.
