Joy to the World: A Christmas Concert benefits Catholic Charities of St. Louis

In partnership with St. Louis Cathedral Concerts and the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, Catholic Charities presents this concert on Dec. 3. This musical event is a celebration of faith and will benefit the Catholic Charities of St. Louis. 

Night of Music for Cause 

As per its webpage, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis will conduct a concert to benefit its various projects. The organization works with St. Louis Cathedral Concerts and the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis to present a fantastic concert of outstanding artists and musicians. 

Joy to the World: A Christmas Concert will take place at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. It will highlight performances from Cathedral Concerts Executive Director and famous tenor Scott Kennebeck. 

Organist John Powel Wash and violinist Leonora Marya Anop will join Kennebeck in this night of beautiful music and performances. Additionally, several local high school choirs and the Archdiocesan Handbell Choir will also share their talents. Together, they will make everyone in high spirits on Dec. 3, beginning at 8:00 p.m.

In-person viewing for this concert is sold out. Catholic Charities advises everyone to visit its webpage on Dec. 3 at 8:00 p.m. to watch the event's live stream. Moreover, if one registers for a virtual ticket, Catholic Charities will give a calendar invitation and event reminders. 

Scott Kennebeck, Tenor 

As shared on his webpage, Scott Kennebeck hails for St. Louis and has sung since age eight. His career began in the Cathedral of St. Louis Pontifical Boys Choir. 

He is the Principal Tenor for the American Kantorei in Concordia Seminary's Bach at the Sem series.  

His singing career with the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis Choir and Archdiocesan Choir of St. Louis began in 1993. Aside from singing, Scott serves as the Executive Director of St. Louis Cathedral Concerts. 

These are just some of his long lists of qualifications and outstanding background information. Scott has toured as a soloist across the U. S. Italy, England, Germany, and Austria.

He has also served as cantor at masses in all four Major Basilicas in Rome.

Dr. Leonora Marya Anop, Violinist 

According to the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville webpage, Dr. Leonora Marya Anop was the founder and director of SIUE Summer String Quartet Institute. She regularly performs as a soloist, a concertmaster, and a chamber musician. 

Before joining the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Dr. Anop performed across the U.S., Europe, and Australia as First Violin of the Rackham String Quartet (1991-97).

Since the year 2000, she has been the Concertmaster of the Bach Society of Saint Louis Orchestra. Every year Dr. Anop plays numerous solos and live radio broadcasts at the St. Louis Cathedral Basilica with organist John Romeri.

She also performs regularly with the renowned Czech organist Karel Paukert. 

Dr. Anop obtained her Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A) degree at the University of Michigan. She received her Master of Music from Yale University and her Bachelor of Music with Honors in Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music.
