POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Security Officer provides a visual security presence and professionalism to ensure that staff and visitors have a safe and pleasant experience while visiting the Church.
· Patrol and monitor the facility and grounds hourly; observe general public; guard property against fire, theft and damages; apply effective apprehension techniques as needed
· Provide general information, directions and assistance to facility guests
· Investigate and report all unusual activity and submit incident reports to ensure correct and orderly flow of information from shift to shift. Prepare and review of incident reports for adherence to established standards; take corrective measures when necessary
· Monitor event activity and notify the Director of Operations of any concerns or safety issues
· Check outside facilities for needed maintenance and repairs; recognize and report damage and safety hazards
· Plan, participate and present for staff and member safety meetings and training sessions
· Assist the Director of Operations in administering the facility’s emergency preparedness programs
· Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
· Request for time off for vacation, training events, or leave of any kind should be submitted at least two (2) weeks in advance or in the case of emergency leave, as soon as possible.
· Assist the Director of Operations as needed to identify backup support
· In case of tardiness or sudden illness, contact the Director of Operations prior to your scheduled work time.
· Perform other tasks as assigned
· AED and CPR/First Aid certification
· Valid Georgia State Driver’s License
EDUCATION
H.S. Diploma (Required)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as a previous law enforcement officer required
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in public safety
- Knowledge of fire and public safety regulations, methods and procedures of security work, crowd management and traffic control techniques
- Active or retired police officer
- Licensed to carry a firearm
- Exercise good, independent judgment and make sound decisions; understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Must successfully pass criminal background check

Pay: $45,000.00 - $54,500.00 per year
