Objective
The Assistant Facilities Director works to support the daily operations of the church Monday – Thursday by directing the facility staff to address maintenance and set up needs in coordination with the Director of Facilities. The Assistant Facilities Director leads the facility staff on Sunday to ensure worship spaces, class rooms and meeting spaces are operational.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of United Methodist Church beliefs, doctrines, discipline, traditions, and social principles.
- Knowledge of the culture and values of Northside Church, articulates and supports its mission and direction; and demonstrates through words and actions the love of God
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of church operations and project management.
- Effective communicator, written and orally with members, staff and contractors.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Insures preparation of all facilities and grounds for daily events and Sunday worship
- Must be a dedicated Christ follower where life reflects Christian character personally and professionally.
- Ensures the proper disposal of hazardous and controlled wastes in compliance with regulations and guidelines
- Manages work order requests, security scheduling, alarm monitoring and payable processing.
- Performs other related tasks as requested

- Strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise staff for maximum productivity, efficiency, and quality
- Ability to work independently, adapt to change, multi task, meet deadlines, and create their own work plans and schedules, with minimal supervision.
- Efficient with smartphones and computers. Know Microsoft Office and Learn ACS Scheduling
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, property management, engineering, building trades, or related field, and;
- Three years of progressively more responsible experience in maintenance, construction, mechanical systems, and facility management or; combination of education and experience commensurate with the minimum requirements of this position.
- Construction/Project Management or church facility management experience.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to talk and hear, stand, walk, sit, reach with arms and hands, stairs or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and team lift up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
