The overall responsibility of the A/V Specialist is to successfully implement and coordinate the technology for weekly worship services, meetings, events, concerts and special services at Marietta First United Methodist Church. While this is a part-time position focused on Sunday activity, the A/V Specialist will need to participate in weekly staff meetings (possibly remotely) and oversee events at the church (in-person) throughout the week. This will require flexibility in scheduling. Much of the creative work will occur outside of normal staff hours. During certain times on the church calendar (for example: Easter, Holy Week, Advent and Christmas Eve), additional work hours will be required to support services and events. Will also support the Communications staff with content.

Proficiency in audio, video, theatrical lighting systems, media, digital mixing, editing, recording, portable systems, microphones (including wireless), speakers, and camera operation is required. A strong knowledge of software platforms to support technical operations is also necessary. Due to real-time production, must be able to make critical decisions under pressure in order to create a reliable, professional presentation.

Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Music, this individual will oversee the equipment inventory, keeping it in good working order and updating the technology as needs and budgets determine appropriate. Will also develop a team of volunteers to support this position allowing for occasional backup personnel.

This is a part-time, non-exempt, hourly position averaging up to 25 hours per week.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
