Responsibilities
- Accurate, consistent, and timely entry of data related to churches, clergy, and clergy/lay benefits.
- Collection and tracking of needed documentation relating to clergy benefits, clergy appointments, and church updates.
- Collect, prepare, organize, and maintain a variety of highly confidential employment-related records such as personal data changes in the Conference Database and Wespath database.
- Ensure that data maintained at the Conference matches the data at the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) and Wespath.
- Strive for continuous improvement in the data management area, analyze processes to ensure optimal efficiency and, if applicable, initiate change initiatives to improve the processes.
- Maintain accurate records of meetings of the Conference Council on Finance and Administration (CFA), Conference Board of Pension and Health Benefits (CBOPHB), Conference Trustees, and Conference Commission on Equitable Compensation
- Coordinate planning, including meals where appropriate, and communication of all meetings of the Treasurer’s Department and all Conference boards for which the Treasurer provides oversight (listed above).
- Support and streamline Annual Conference registration and credentialing.
- Generate accurate and timely reports for agencies, committees, and the Conference Journal.
- Attend Annual Conference to provide support for the Treasurer’s Department
- Administrative support for the Treasurer on a limited basis.

- Excellent communication skills to translate complex problems using non-technical terms
- Excellent math, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work towards meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to compile and organize findings and data retrieved before presenting it to management
- Thorough understanding of management and data administration duties such as collection, analysis, and distribution
Deliverables
- Clergy pension and health elections entered prior to the beginning of the new appointment seasons (Jan 1/July 1)
- Decrease errors in benefits billing due to incorrect appointments/benefit elections.
- Development of data management documentation.
- Concise minutes of the Conference Council on Finance and Administration, Conference Board of Pension and Health Benefits, Conference Trustees, and Conference Commission on Equitable Compensation
Requirements
- A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in data management or analysis.
- Degree in a business-related field or information technology is preferred.
- Ability to decipher and organize large amounts of data.
- An analytical mindset with superb communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate complex problems clearly and in nontechnical terms.
- Experience working within the United Methodist Church is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Duties shall be performed in a hybrid work environment including in office (Atlanta, Ga.), on-site (various), virtually, and remotely.
- May require prolonged standing or sitting, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching. Requires manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination, and ability to lift 25 pounds above the shoulders.
