Job Responsibilities:

- Provide and oversee safe, secure, nurturing, clean, and efficient care to children.

- Maintain an attitude of extravagant hospitality to all parents, children, and visitors; maintain professional demeanor with colleagues and other staff, working to coordinate PDO programming with the overall vision and mission of Marietta FUMC.

- Coordinate appropriate staffing of childcare, including developing a schedule for workers, calling on substitutes when necessary, and standing in as a PDO worker as needed.

- Oversee implementation of PDO daily structure, including age-appropriate activities and faith-based curriculum as defined by Director of Children’s Ministry ("Director").

- Maintain organized, clean, and safe PDO rooms and supply areas, regularly auditing resources, equipment, and supplies and communicating needs to Director.

- Adhere to all applicable standards as set by The United Methodist Church and the State of Georgia, including maintaining staff ratios, writing policies and procedures, and following Mandated Reporter guidelines.

- Establish protocol for training workers, including working with Director to ensure that workers are following best practices and adequately prepared to care for children’s physical, emotional, and social needs.

- Communicate in a timely and professional manner with PDO staff, including the ability to evaluate employee performance and offer guidance and constructive feedback as needed.

- Manage check-in and out, including maintaining accurate records, communicating with parents/guardians about special instructions or medical conditions, and following safety protocols.

- Maintain accurate online and physical records, including monitoring and updating records of registrations and immunizations, monitoring the PDO scheduling system, and communicating with parents/guardians via email.

- Meet regularly with Director and PDO staff to collaborate on planning, implementing, and maintaining appropriate curriculum, resources, and spaces for children.

- Facilitate State licensing audits and visits, communicating with the Director about dates of visits and needs before visits.

- Exemplify best practices and serve as a role model to other staff and volunteers, including upholding the highest standards of nurturing care and safety for children.

- Respond to program inquiries and conduct tours of the facility/program for prospective parents.

- Continue to seek out education and training on best practices for childcare and safety standards as outlined by The United Methodist Church and the State of Georgia, adjusting and implementing training to other staff as needed.

- Attend and be actively involved and prepared for All Staff meetings.

Requirements:

Must have 3-5 years experience working with children.

Must be physically able to walk, sit, squat, crouch, crawl, hear, speak, get up and down from the floor, change diapers and lift up to 30 pounds.

Must be physically able to hold babies for feeding and comforting and lift babies and toddlers into highchairs, cribs and changing tables.

Previous childcare supervisory experience a plus.

Able to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Familiarity with Georgia's Bright from the Start program a plus.

CPR and First Aid Training will be required but available upon hire.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour
