• Enhance the ministries of Embry Hills UMC through quality children’s programming including Sunday School, Seasonal Events, and Small Group Opportunities.
• Recruit, train, and equip volunteers in the areas of Sunday school and Children’s Events
• Communicate effectively the dates and scope of children events, and coordinate them with the overall church calendar.
• Assist the church in integrating children, youth, and their families into all aspects of life in the church.
• Plan and execute opportunities for spiritual growth and outreach through retreats and mission trips when appropriate.
• Be cognizant of safe sanctuaries policy, and ensure the safety of children and youth whenever present at the church, and make sure all volunteers are aware of and trained in the safe sanctuary policy.
• Provide pastoral care for children and their families when needed and appropriate.
• Develop and manage appropriate budget areas.
• Continue to learn and develop children’s ministry practices through resources or ministry networks both personally and programatically.
• Be the primary point person for Vacation Bible School, and other annual or seasonal activities such as the Trunk-or-Treat, Easter Egg Hunt, and Christmas Events.
