The Administrative Assistant facilitates effective ministry by performing administrative duties that support the Ministry and Ministry Leader. This position is key in working with the Ministry Leaders to achieve office efficiency and maximize effectiveness in the ministry.

· Performs a wide variety of administrative assistant duties as required by the Ministry Leader (staff or volunteer).

· Administrative support to include timely communication with ministry team volunteers; written correspondence, as well as prepares responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries.

· Assists with ministry meetings, specifically as it relates to agenda items and compiling and distributing minutes of meetings.

· Prepares spreadsheets and/or utilizes the church database to include communications, lists, rosters, reports, and activity involving the use of a member’s confidential records and information.

· Integral in providing and maintaining status or progress data reports for the ministry. Ensures accuracy for qualitative and quantifiable data.

· Ensures that ministry rosters are up-to-date and accuracy of member’s contact information.

· Collaborates with ministry team members and leaders on orientation and training of new volunteers.

· Communicates and works with the church administrative staff as it relates to consistency with the church as it relates to ministry handbook, policies, procedures, and processes.

· Understands clearly the roles and functions of the ministry and ministry positions; has ministry position descriptions available for each of the positions within the ministry area.

· Organizes ministry office files.

· Meets with the Pastor or Executive Director via phone and in-person on a consistent and regular basis as it relates to ministry progress, goals, mission and objectives.

· Ability and willingness to work with volunteers, multiple staff, and others.

Essential Skills:

· Minimum 1-2 years administrative support experience in an office environment.

· Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and email. Basic skills with Publisher.

· Willingness to learn and use the church’s computer database.

· Excellent and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

· Strong organizational skills

· Pays very close attention to details

· Process-oriented

· Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks

· Great time management skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Weekend availability
