Responsibilities
•
BCM is seeking a Community Engagement Manager who will work closely with the Chief Development Officer to recruit, train, and retain volunteers to help support the agency’s mission
•
The Manager will work primarily to fulfill the needs of the Program staff for trained coaches and teachers for our Budget for Life ™ and Foundations 3 ™ programs
•
The role will develop a general on-boarding process and maintain all files
•
Coordinate volunteer programs
•
Identify, recruit, and fill organizational needs for volunteers by meeting with the leadership team and key staff members overseeing volunteer-driven programs
•
Leverage technology to track volunteers and training
•
Develop and execute targeted recruitment strategies to fill volunteer roles
•
Plan and execute volunteer training strategies to ensure all volunteers are knowledgeable about BCM, including working with marginalized populations, the volunteer role, and the technology and equipment required of the role
•
Responsible for volunteer management including discipline
•
Implement creative recognition and retention strategies that keep volunteers engaged and excited to serve at BCM Georgia
•
Research and explore innovative volunteer management strategies
•
Cultivate new and steward existing relationships with congregations across the region to amplify BCM Georgia’s mission
•
Develop and implement a church recruitment strategy that is targeted to cultivate and engage new partners
•
Create and maintain a prospect list of churches to target and engage new partners
•
Assist CEO with the Church Advisory Council
•
Coordinate annual partnership meetings with to meet with senior church leadership
•
Identify opportunities for the CEO to engage and communicate directly with volunteers
•
Plan and implement trainings/ information sessions with church liaisons and other key staff members or volunteers
•
Develop and implement a partnership acknowledgment
•
Responsible for congregations’ BCM Georgia collateral material
•
Meet with church mission’s teams to review church needs and expectations
•
Design and execute communication for church liaisons and leadership
•
Develop and manage a Volunteer Ambassador Team
•
Communicate the economic and social value of BCM’s services to congregations and volunteers to increase engagement
•
Respond to speaking engagements with church and community groups
•
Create Speaker’s Bureau Information Presentation for Ambassador Team
•
Connect and collaborate with local community partners to research volunteer engagement practices and opportunities they employ
•
Create and distribute an annual volunteer survey to capture volunteer satisfaction, expectations, ideas and concerns
•
Manage all aspects of volunteer on-boarding from application, background checks, data entry, and exit interviews
•
Manage and follow-up with volunteers when there are issues with volunteer expectations, inappropriate behavior, or prolonged absences
•
Meet with key staff members that utilize volunteers to review volunteer roles, needs and share volunteer engagement best practices
•
Subscribe and contribute to volunteer engagement newsletters, blogs, meetings and websites
•
Assist with the ongoing operations of BCM’s Development efforts including but not limit to:
•
Entering gift batches into Raiser’s Edge and creating acknowledgement letters
•
Donor mailings
•
Event Volunteer Support
•
Assist at events with volunteers
