First United Methodist Church of Marietta is seeking a Facilities team member to work a full-time shift from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday or a part-time shift from 6-10 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our large church campus in downtown Marietta includes multiple buildings, a preschool and a park. The Facilities Custodian will provide custodial and light building maintenance for the common areas and grounds.
This is a physically demanding job, so applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk, stoop, climb and stand continuously throughout the shift.
Responsibilities include:
· Setting up rooms for small and large group functions with tables, chairs and equipment.
· Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs.
· Perform janitorial and clean up tasks throughout the church and grounds.
· Provide daily care for all surfaces, fixtures and furnishings (washing, dusting, sanitizing and polishing).
· Perform core duties such as floor care (vacuuming, mopping, stripping, polishing and carpet cleaning) and restroom maintenance (cleaning and trash removal).
· Must follow strict safety policies and protocols, especially due to work with chemicals, mechanical parts and weather conditions.
· Must be able to work independently throughout the shift but willingly take direction from and work well with supervisors, staff and church members. Event timetables require effective planning and prioritizing of tasks and the flexibility to make quick changes.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in this profession.
Must successfully pass background check, drug screening and have a current motor vehicle license.
