Job Summary

The digital communications manager oversees the design and functionality of Global Ministries’ website, maintaining and updating website content, evaluating, and managing website performance, and facilitating hosting and server management in concert with IT resources. The digital communications manager will be responsible for search engine optimization, monitoring, and reporting on website performance, and will make necessary adjustments to improve website performance and discoverability. The digital engagement manager is also responsible for crafting and deploying e-communications campaigns, in collaboration with communications and agency colleagues.

Essential Job Functions

Update and maintain agency website, with focus on accuracy of content, design and ease of use, as measured by user and donor experience. Work with vendors/agency colleagues to ensure that coding, plugins and all connective websites work with the agency website.
Work proactively with communications staff and agency colleagues to keep website content up to date, auditing and updating content regularly.
Work in collaboration with communications staff and agency colleagues to develop and deploy compelling e-communications campaigns, including but not limited to donor solicitation, monthly agency newsletter, and conference communicators newsletter.
Develop a measurement strategy and implement ROI metrics for the website; utilize analysis to recommend website improvements that improve engagement and user experience.
Work with chief communications officer and operations and project manager to track and monitor digital software expenses and software purchases for the agency.
Other duties, as assigned.
Education and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, web development, or related field.
Three to five years of experience with web design, digital marketing, communications, or related field.

Competencies, Job Requirements and Other Specialized Knowledge

Regularly audit the web site, reaching out to colleagues to keep content update; propose revision and any budgetary impacts to increase effectiveness, user satisfaction and engagement
Collaborate with content team to author compelling web content and e-communications that reflect agency priorities in accordance with identified audiences and content calendar.
Collaborate with the Enterprise Business Systems department and external agencies for web support (where applicable), integration with systems that affect the websites, and implementation of web privacy policy initiatives
Utilize analytics to determine reach and effectiveness of content and posting.
Good judgment combined with strong work ethic, professionalism, and integrity
Detail orientation with good analytic and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced work environment
Proficiency in a variety of software packages including Adobe Creative Suite, social media apps and tools, Facebook, Twitter, bitly, Instagram, Hootsuite, YouTube, marketing, and email platforms, Canva, HTML, CSS, and content management systems
Strong knowledge of social and other digital media
Strong writing and editing skills, including ability to edit own work

The Ideal Candidate

The selected candidate must have excellent attention to detail. This role requires an understanding and respect for cultural, religious, and political environments that requires diplomacy when working with staff at all levels and external partners. The candidate must be able to lead a team by articulating expectations verbally/in writing, motivate others and provide helpful feedback to the team. Creativity and innovation are required for successful performance. Teamwork is a key skill to ensure collaboration between the units, partners, and external vendors.

Work Hours and Conditions

FLSA Status: F/T Exempt
Location: Remote
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm (Monday – Friday with flexible start/end time) - Evening and weekend work/meetings as necessary, particularly during peak unit season.
May require work outside of standard business hours (to include weekends), particularly during peak unit season.
Sedentary office/computer/keyboarding/meeting work for extended periods of time.
Travel may be required.
