Job Overview

The Digital Marketing & Design Specialist will be responsible for the copy and graphics needed for the mission’s online and offline communications. This professional will bring solid digital marketing and graphic design background to every stage of the customer journey – from prospecting and promotional messaging to the on-property experience of our retreatants. This individual will need to be comfortable working independently while managing time-sensitive processes and supporting full-cycle marketing initiatives, including:

o Ignatius House’s promotion as a place for individuals to come on retreat 

o Ignatius House’s promotion as a place for groups to organize private retreats or meetings (parishes, religious organizations, and non-profits) 

o Volunteer and Donor communication

Areas of Responsibility

  • Writes, edits, and designs all digital and printed communication materials including newsletters, website content, booklets, brochures/collateral, schedules, postcards, signage, fundraising materials, etc., with vendor support
  • Coordinates and tracks vendor production and stock of printed communication materials
  • Manages social media channels
  • Writes, edits, and designs website content, including online calendar support for busy mission with numerous and different retreats over the year together with daily events
  • Coordinates SEO and website performance with vendor support
  • Takes pictures of grounds and candid pictures during retreats and events (under strict pre-approvals as per privacy and copyrights requirements)
  • Writes and designs high-performing email campaigns (using “Mail Chimp”) in support of marketing, development / advancement, and participant experiences
  • Manages and schedules email and social media (Instagram, Facebook) communications calendar
  • Identifies and creates list segments, targeting messages to subsets of our subscriber database
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports effectiveness of digital communication (website, email, newsletter, social media)
  • Creates and retouches images for all communications materials, including website
  • Oversees video vendor and performs basic video editing for website, social media

Requirements

  • Expertise in writing, editing, and designing digital and printed marketing materials (including website content, newsletters, invitations, brochures, etc.)
  • Design expertise and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) or similar (such as Affinity Publisher)
  • Deep understanding and usage of WordPress or other website platforms
  • Deep understanding and usage of Mail Chimp; common social media channels (Instagram, Facebook), and content management systems
  • Deep understanding and usage of Google analytics and other tracking/monitoring/measuring tools
  • Deep understanding and usage of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Able to achieve tasks within deadlines and track simultaneous projects & initiatives
  • Knowledge of SEO and creating Search Engine Optimized content for web

Preferred

  • Prior experience/education with non-profit or a faith-based organization (ideally Jesuit, Catholic, or Christian)
  • Experience coordinating integrated campaigns
  • Interest in sociological & demographic trends, especially religion in America
  • Professional/intermediate level of writing in Spanish

W*orking Conditions* 

  • Work in an office and hospitality operation environment (maximum remote time 50%)
  • Work at a place of worship. 
  • Occasional weekends and evenings may be required.
