Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for establishing and implementing HR initiatives and programs to support the strategic direction and ministry plans of FBA. This role will guide the development of a performance-driven, ministry-minded, results-oriented culture through all stages of employment, compensation and benefits, policies, compliance, budget, and data analytics to optimize operations.

Essential Functions

  • Manage and direct all stages of employment
    • Acquisition – through the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Development, manage the entire cycle recruiting process.
    • Development – through the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Development, develop programs for orientation and onboarding, access, training, and setting expectations.
    • Engagement – work with managers and employees on goals and objectives, learning, employee surveys, feedback, and workplace concerns.
    • Management – work with managers and employees on retention initiatives, performance reviews, employee relations, succession plans, and change management.
    • Transition – manage all exits and exit interviews.
  • Compensation and Benefits
    • Develop and implement competitive compensation, benefits, and incentive programs.

  1. Design and manage compensation processes and projects to include job evaluation and analysis, survey participation, benchmarking, development of job grades, salary and incentive compensation program management, internal equity analysis, merit increase process, employee and manager education, and communication, salary ranges, offers, and adjustments.
  2. Provide oversight to payroll management and assist with payroll and HRIS transactions.

  1. Manage and oversee the administration of benefits plans and leave of absence policies and procedures.
  2. Benefits management responsibilities include benefits and claims cost analysis, benefits compliance, partnership with benefits broker and management of vendor relationships, and wellness program development and management.
  3. Provide benefits administration, including the enrollment and termination of employee benefits and monthly benefit reconciliation.
  4. Manages benefits renewals and open enrollment.
  • Policies
    • Leads the development, implementation, and coordination of all Human Resources initiatives' policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Collaborates with other Operations Directors on all internal policies and procedures.
  • Compliance
    • Maintain knowledge and compliance with laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
    • Ensure compliance with benefits, insurance, regulations, and requirements.
    • Interface with external agencies and regulatory bodies on all personnel matters and ensure accurate and timely compliance and reporting functions.
  • Budget
    • Manage and oversee the HR department budget, including variance explanation, reconciliation, and reclassification.
    • Manage expenses, assess existing procedures, identify inefficiencies, and implement changes where appropriate.
    • Establish a process to utilize the budget (salary revision, bonus, recognition, promotions, and performance management).
    • Analyze cost competitiveness and changing patterns in recruiting, compensation, benefits, work environment, turnover, government mandates, and employee incumbrances.
  • Data Analytics
    • Analyze organizational trends and data to provide insight that leads to improvement and change.

Qualifications

  • Must have a growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • It must align with the beliefs, values, and mission of FBA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources is required. Master’s degree desired. SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP or HRCI preferred.
  • Ten years of Human Resources management experience in all functional areas.
  • High professionalism, interpersonal skills, and integrity to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent public speaking, written, verbal, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Solid knowledge of employment laws and benefits plan designs.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to develop strong relationships with all employees.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are fundamental.
  • History of developing and executing plans and working well under pressure with sound judgment.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment by setting priorities, managing time, and meeting deadlines.
