Position Summary

The Director of Media is responsible for the development of strategies to effectively broadcast worship services and other various events utilizing multiple means of multimedia and technical productions.

Essential Functions

  1. Provide and maintain a high level of excellence in all production aspects of the in-person and online worship experiences.
  2. Functions as a producer of worship services and events.
  3. Leads, builds, and equips a production team of staff members and volunteers.
  4. Oversees the overall weekend mix process and approve final product before posting to various media platforms.
  5. Responsible for all technical components for all worship services including, but not limited to, audio, lights, cameras, videos, engineering, etc.
  6. Work in conjunction with the Systems & Technology department to enhance network-based technologies (livestreaming, etc.).
  7. Plans, designs, and recommends the installment of equipment upgrades and replacement of media equipment.
  8. Ensure the recording and broadcast of worship services and events as directed by the Senior Pastor.
  9. Ensures various projects are videoed, photographed, and produced with consistency, creativity, and excellence.
  10. Responsible for setting and maintaining the annual budget for the media ministry.

Qualifications

  1. Candidate must have a growing & mature, demonstrated personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in media production, or related field.
  3. Minimum 10 years’ experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  4. Minimum 3 years’ experience leading and managing a team.
  5. Working knowledge of various computer-based broadcast mixing systems.
  6. Strong knowledge of videography/photography, editing skills, A/V technology, etc.
  7. Experience with livestreaming events to various social media platforms.
  8. Experience working in a mega church of 4,000 or more in weekly attendance highly preferred.
  9. Strong conflict resolution and critical thinking skills.
  10. High level of interpersonal and relationship skills essential when working with ministry departments and staff members.
  11. Ministry-minded focus with the ability to cultivate a team spirit within the Media Ministry and the church.
  12. Effective problem analysis and resolution skills.
  13. Work well under pressure with the ability to be flexible, organize, manage time and set/shift priorities while meeting deadlines.
  14. Ability to develop, plan, and implement ministry- and church-related, short- and long-range goals, as well as to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
