The Director of Contemporary Worship will direct, lead, and facilitate expressions of Contemporary Worship. Additionally, they will work with the director of Choral Music in a collaborative capacity and support the WORSHIP pillar Ministry Team.

Responsibilities

· Lead in ensuring creativity and quality for the in-person worship experience

· Procure, keep up-to-date, and maintain all necessary audio and video equipment

· Recruit, schedule, and oversee Worship Media volunteers

· Set Order of Service, select music, and determine worship elements presented in the contemporary worship service

· Responsible for recruiting, rehearsing, and leading the Contemporary Worship Band for the 9:15 service and other worship events.

· Remain familiar with current worship practices for fostering an effective, high quality, and innovative worship experience

· Oversee and coordinate all musical aspects of the contemporary worship service

· Plan and conduct weekly Worship Band rehearsal and/or equivalent access to media for at-home preparation (Planning Center Online)

· Offer spiritual leadership with musicians and vocalists and in leading the congregation (prayers, call to worship, transitional statements, encouragement, etc.)

· Promote the musical ability and spiritual development of Worship Band members of a variety of skills through their participation in the music ministry

· Support the director of Choral Music as accompanist as time allows

· Support other events that include musical worship as they arise such as seasonal services, combined worship services, events that emerge from staff planning, etc.

· Look for opportunities to grow and diversify the worship expression of the church

Qualifications and Skills

· A passion for the Gospel of Christ and evident fruits of grace

· Thorough experience and proven effectiveness in worship leadership, musical direction, vocal leadership, and developing musical charts and arrangements for musicians

· Ability to articulate a worship vision and equip, inspire, and manage volunteers and staff around worship

· Ability to identify, attract, and develop new and emerging giftedness from the congregation

· Flexibility and preparedness to adapt to changing circumstances

· Willingness to take risks and try new approaches

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $37,200.00 - $42,200.00 per year
