Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and presenting employee security awareness and safety programs involving crime prevention, safety, and ethical conduct and security awareness topics.
  • Direct and/or perform ongoing vulnerability assessments.
  • Ensure the development, testing, and implementation of appropriate security plans, products, and control techniques.
  • Develop and maintain security plans and best practices for all s facilities, members, and employees throughout the buildings.
  • Develop a proactive approach to deterring possible security breaches by using the latest state-of-the-art video surveillance equipment, access control, screening technology, and consistent physical tours and inspections of the two buildings’ interior and exterior premises.
  • Develop an analytical function to support the Physical Security Program.
  • Lead church in Safe Sanctuary training.
  • Lead church in active shooting training.
  • Coordinate special events at the church.
  • Foster relationships with the local police commander within the zone of the two locations of the church.
  • Develop relationships with other church security representatives.
  • Share intelligence that has been gathered.
  • Determine if an individual(s) needs to be arrested based on the facts.
  • Function as a complainant for the church at any police or court encounters.
  • Function as incident commander during security incidents.

Qualifications

  • First Aid or CPR certifications.
  • Great physical strength and agility.
  • Train officers on security policies and procedures.
  • Primary liaison with onsite security contractors.
  • Must possess demonstrated experience and in-depth comprehensive knowledge in crisis management, security, investigation, loss prevention, life safety, and general safety awareness.
  • Must possess a minimum of 10 years of previous law enforcement and/or security combined experience.
  • Demonstrate leadership experience with the ability to effectively coach and mentor others.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with vendors, members and employees, and other visitors to the premises.
  • Detailed understanding of best security policies, practices, and the law.
  • Keen and observant eye to ensure any suspicious activity does not go unnoticed.
  • Ability to act with integrity and in a professional manner.
  • Ability to operate emergency equipment and intruder detection systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating effectively in written and spoken form to broad internal and external entities including non-technical executives, business colleagues, product and service vendors, and external peers.
  • Ability to develop and conduct employee training programs.
  • Law Enforcement trained with a firearm.
  • 5+ years leading security functions or teams.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Education, Administration, Homeland Security, Computer Science, Fire Science, Business/Administration, General Education, Management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
