PURPOSE
The Victory Church digital platform is undergoing a transformation to further advance the mission of the gospel, by creating disciples and guiding them along their spiritual journey. To help us with this transformation, Victory Church is seeking a talented and highly-motivated leader to guide a team of talented developers and UX/UI designers who create interactive online experiences for our online guests. The Director of Web Development will work collaboratively between a range of teams including church leadership, marketing, IT and creative to ensure our digital platform meets the needs of our audience and fulfills the standards of our organization. This role will balance organizing strategies, managing execution, and implementing standards of excellence for our team to follow.
RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
Create strategies for developing the state of our digital platform which includes websites, web & mobile applications, and other technologies.
Build, oversee, and coach a team of developers, designers, and product managers while driving the evolution of the Victory Church digital platform.
Collaborate closely with leadership and across different teams to plan, organize, and deliver projects that involve the digital platform.
Set standards for design and development practices in conjunction with brand and marketing guidelines.
Set goals for your team, implement processes, and monitor progress to ensure we are making gains and performing well.
Be strategic and analytical in your approach when delivering solutions to new and existing problems.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in a related area preferred.
Outstanding leadership acumen and experience interacting with and managing expectations of senior leaders
Experience leading teams specifically focused on engineering and design operations
Deep understanding of design principles for the web (including accessibility, layout, typography, and user experience)
Deep understanding of modern web technologies, industry best practices, trends, and specific technologies for different use cases.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely share conceptual ideas, design rationale, and the specifics of a user-centered design experience
Solid track record of achieving and exceeding goals in fast-paced environments
Experience creating interface design guidelines and structured assets
Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress
Proficiency in modern web technologies like React, NodeJS, Typescript, GraphQL
Agile development methodologies
Experience with system design and architecture, and platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
Experience with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
