EBC Cares Director aka Community Director on Indeed
The Community Development Coordinator will be gifted in organizational leadership and administration. This person will mobilize and empower members for short and long-term effectiveness locally.
Principal Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Vision Casting in Local Community Impact

  • Identify focused areas of need and opportunities locally that align with EBC’s values, mission, and philosophy of ministry.
  • Serve as the primary local spokesperson for the ministry, partnering with local ministries and churches as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the Community Farm and the Gift-in-Kind (GIK) program that exists to connect donated resources to vulnerable families and communities in the surrounding Atlanta area.
  • Responsible for coordinating UPS logistics and scheduling delivery of truckloads with the trucking company.
  • Responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations.
  • Responsible for developing effective ministry partnerships and collaboration with churches and ministry influencers.
  • Responsible for growing our network of partnerships with local organizations to provide services that minister to the community.
  • Mobilize EBC members in addressing the needs in our local predicament.
  • Attend select fundraising events.

Provide Leadership to the Volunteer Teams

  • Assisting in developing policies and strategies for local partnerships.
  • Administer and manage the approved budget.
  • Evaluating existing and potential partnerships.
  • Oversee and build relationships with local mission agencies that we support (e.g., The Donna Center, Family Heritage, MHFH, etc.)
  • Develop environments and opportunities to inform, challenge, and motivate others about involvement in the identified (local predicament) areas. These may include the use of social media, classes or conferences, church-wide experiences, etc.
  • Mobilize people to engage in relief and restoration efforts. Maximize alignment between local and global ministries encouraging participants to engage in ongoing involvement.
  • Remain well-informed of and evaluate trends affecting the community and the local church.
  • Implement a marketing strategy that effectively markets the local outreach evangelistic and mission opportunities, educates the congregation, and maximizes the church’s efforts in this area.
  • Promptly respond to questions and requests for information.
  • Attending departmental, and staff meetings as requested.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Leadership Development

  • Identify, train, and support key lay leaders in coordinating local partnerships.
  • Develop Volunteer Coordinators and Project Managers to implement programs and initiatives.

Skills/Requirements:

  • 3+ years of Christian ministry experience (as a volunteer leader or member of staff).
  • Have a strong understanding of discipleship, missions, and ministry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong technology capabilities, capable of working with databases and programs.
  • Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain calmness when under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
  • Superior organization, prioritizing skills, and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to interact with multiple people with grace and enthusiasm

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

  • Atlanta, GA 30331: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Ministry: 3 years (Required)
