General Job Description: Provide oversight of all church property in regards to facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Facilities Director with communicating with vendors when they visit the church.
- Keep masters list and inventory of church equipment, tools, etc.
- Assist Facilities Director with developing scope of work, procure, and manage repairs, preservation and improvements to the properties via outside contractors.
- Purchase supplies –repair parts, paper products, cleaning supplies, and required tools.
- Oversee compliance with regulations for fire alarms & extinguishers, hood fire system, backflow preventers, grease traps, and elevators. Training will be provided.
- Provide emergency and non-emergency troubleshooting of mechanical systems
- Evaluate the security needs of the properties and offer suggestions for improved safety and security.
- Facilitate smaller repairs or improvements within the church: mechanical, electrical, carpentry.
- Provide the trustees and Exec. Director with the physical status of the facilities.
- Ensure the Sanctuary is ready for services each Sunday morning.
- Assist with the memorial garden.
Physical Qualifications:
Must be able to lift items up to 40 pounds and carry them a distance of 50 feet.
Professional Skills Required: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty or have required knowledge. This includes:
1. Willingness to learn new skills
2. Ability to use basic tools
3. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to converse in English
5. Ability to oversee multiple projects at one time
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
