The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Grants Management Specialist for the Southern Territory Headquarters, located in Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Summary
Reviews, analyzes, and processes complex grants and contracts requiring an advanced level of technical expertise; serves as a resource regarding the status of pending grants and contracts; advises on compliance with funding requirements of local/state/federal government, quasi-government entities, and private organizations providing funding for social services programs throughout the Southern Territory; safeguards The Salvation Army's position as a religious organization as well as a nonprofit corporation; serve as a technical resource person and provide advice to the Territorial Social Services Operations Director, Divisional Headquarters and the Field on matters involving government programs, funding, and contracts. Supports the Territorial Social Services Secretary and Territorial Social Services Operations Director by performing administrative duties in assigned areas.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of The Salvation Army's mission and philosophy. Knowledge of Salvation Army policies and procedures affecting or related to the Grants and Contracts Section. Knowledge of Salvation Army Social Services programs. Understanding of complex grant and contract management/administration. Knowledge of contract-related legal terminology. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws governing grant/contract agreements and religious/non-profit organizations. Ability to apply discretion and independent judgment with limited supervision. Ability to interpret and understand government rules and regulations. Ability to interpret and understand the Federal Register and other government publications. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete records, reports, and correspondence. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability and willingness to seek clarification as needed. Ability and desire to work well as a member of the Social Services team.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or technical/vocational school in Social Work, Contract Management, or a related field. And Two years of progressively responsible experience in contract management, administration, and service delivery, preferably with Salvation Army programs, Or Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications
Valid Georgia Driver’s License
Willing to work systematically to become a Certified Grant Specialist & Reviewer and Certified Senior Grant Specialist.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to sit and work at a computer for up to 75% of work time. Ability to travel occasionally for extended overnight trips. Work is performed in a typical office environment with little or no physical discomforts associated with weather changes or with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
