St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Midtown Atlanta is searching for dependable, caring college students to help take care of little ones in its nursery on Sunday mornings. This position could be just for the summer (May 22-June 31) or long term. The mission of our nursery is to nurture the spiritual growth of our youngest parishioners in a safe and loving environment.

Job description:

  • Provide a safe and loving environment for each and every child
  • Ensure that each child and their parent, grandparent or guardian is greeted warmly and welcomed to the Nursery
  • Play with or engage the children in self-directed activities
  • Diaper younger children and take older children to the toilet following Safe Church procedures
  • Complete the preparatory and ending tasks for the assigned room as posted
  • Learn and enforce Nursery Guidelines
  • Complete a Parental Notification form if the child becomes sick or injured while in the Nursery. A copy of the form will be retained in the Nursery Coordinator’s Office
  • Inform the Nursery Coordinator of availability for additional event scheduling as requested

Qualifications:

  • Childcare skills which include: diaper changing, bottle feeding, cup feeding, holding, burping, soothing and engaging in play
  • Willingness to submit to a criminal background check
  • Willingness to obtain Safe Church Training (Sexual Abuse Prevention Training) - these will be paid hours
  • Available most Sundays from May 22-July 31 during church services (9:45-11:45am).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
